What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Credit / Compliance Specialist position at Grady Management Inc?
Grady Management, Inc., a leader in the property management arena in Maryland and Virginia, has an opportunity for an experienced Compliance Specialist for Cider Mill Apartments, an 800 unit property located in Gaithersburg, MD.
Requirements:
- Experience with Low Income House Tax Credit
- Working knowledge of waiting list, income allowances and rent calculations process, lease renewal (re-certification) utility allowances, and fraud and termination of tenancy rules
- Certified Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) a plus
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of fair housing regulations required
- Yardi software knowledge a plus
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Some weekend work will be required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining information regarding financial and compliance reporting guidelines received from HOC, local entities, and ownership as it pertains to financial systems
- Maintain up-to-date information on annual adjustment factors, fmr’s, income limits, rents and rent schedules
- Issue timely annual re-certification notices
- Conduct interviews for annual re-certification prior to the anniversary of each household move-in
- Prepare all proper documentation for move-in approval via the compliance department
- Follow up on all issues from unit inspections and track through completion
- Collect annual utility invoices to document chance in allowances
Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
