Job Summary
The Burn Quality RN Specialist reports to the Burn Program Director and provides quality surveillance through event identification, investigation, reporting and follow up of loop closure for the burn patient population at Grady Memorial Hospital. They collaborate with physicians, consultants, and multi-disciplinary team members to assure high quality patient outcomes across the continuum of care. They assist in coordinating the routing activities associated with the burn registry (Burn Care Quality Platform [BCQP]), including data gathering, data abstraction/entry, coding, data analysis, data validation/maintenance and report production/creation. In addition to serving as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies, the Burn Quality RN Specialist supports relationships with, and submission of data to, the American Burn Association (ABA), Georgia Department of Public health (GDPH), and Office of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma (OEMS&T), for maintenance of national verification, as well as national benchmarking.Required:
- Bachelor of Science, Nursing (BSN) required
Preferred:
- Master of Science, Nursing (MSN) preferred
Required:
- Four (4) or more years of job related experience including quality, performance improvement or leading teams is required.
Preferred:
- Four (4) or more years of performance improvement leadership
Skill/ Certification/ Licenses
ACLS Preferred
AdvancedBurnLife Support (ABLS) Preferred
BLS - required
Preferred: ICD 10 coding,Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
