In partnership with educators, government agencies, and community leaders across the nation, Graduation Alliance provides versatile pathways to high school graduation for youth and adults, fosters college and career exploration, and connects job creators to skilled and ready workers. Since 2007, Graduation Alliance has worked with more than 650 state agencies, school districts, community colleges, and workforce boards around the country to recruit, re-enroll, educate, and mentor students. Graduation Alliance also operates The American Academy, an exemplary online high school that is fully accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission, a division of Cognia.

Our full-service diploma completion programs can be delivered in facility-based, blended, or fully online settings. These programs are supported with recruiting, transcript analysis, technology, coaching and mentoring, and robust support services.
We also develop and facilitate skill certification packages with tailored support to students of all ages. In coordination with local and national employers, we offer work experience, internship programs and job placement. And we partner with institutions to provide pathways to post-secondary education and career training, complete with preferential enrollment, dual credit opportunities, and early financial aid reviews.

Who we are seeking:
Candidates should be an established leader in the educational community with deep knowledge and expertise on how the K-12 school system works. The ideal candidate will have account management experience, outstanding interpersonal skills, work ethic, and a proven track record for increasing student efficacy and outcomes. Candidates will meet with Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Technology Officers, and other senior-level leaders to establish and grow program offerings. Candidates should have excellent presentation and facilitation skills, and strong relationship building skills. Candidates should be comfortable addressing key barriers to serving at-risk student populations and have pragmatic, real-world examples of strategies used to overcome traditional barriers in the K-12 system.

Job Description:
The Managing Director plays a critical role in driving the success of district partnerships and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between the organization and our partner school districts, focusing on strong relationship-building, program performance, and long-term district satisfaction. The Managing Director will collaborate closely with district leaders and program managers to support at-risk students through our online learning and dropout recovery programs.

Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The Managing Director is responsible for:
  • Lead and manage relationships with existing partner school districts to ensure successful program implementation and outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with district administrators, program managers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Regularly meet (virtually and in-person) with district program teams to review student progress, share data insights, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams — including customer experience, operations, and product — to resolve issues and continuously enhance district satisfaction.
  • Analyze district performance metrics and recommend strategies for improved engagement, retention, and graduation outcomes.
  • Partner with the district and internal finance teams to ensure a smooth and effective billing process.
  • Administration of state requirements regarding student testing and regulatory compliance, in partnership with other Graduation Alliance departments.
  • Achieving annual and monthly revenue targets.
  • Constantly evaluate and develop new processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the District Partnership and the student experience and administer best practices across all partnerships.
  • Oversee the management of day-to-day operational issues for new and continuing clients.
  • Consistently organize and create a structure for communicating changes/updates to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that data integration efforts with District Partners are kept up to date with accurate data.
  • Own the development of necessary training and ongoing education sessions to ensure all internal/external departments and representatives are kept informed of program information.
  • Work with school district leaders and school boards to foster an understanding of the Graduation Alliance partnership.
  • Advocate for building a strong referral process for student re-engagement and enrollment with district leaders.
  • Respond within 8 hours to all customer inquiries either e-mail or phone.
  • Manage activities involving e-mails, phone calls, and opportunities with new and existing customers in the CRM system.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Marketing/Communications, or other related disciplines.
  • 5-10 years of combined experience in client relationship management, account management, and/or project management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills plus experienced presentation skills with the ability to create data-rich material and share publicly in narrative formats to impact positive change.
  • Ability to communicate with a cross-functional team that is geographically dispersed and of different professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing and changing company that requires high flexibility and versatility.
  • Willingness to travel within a geographic Territory 50% of the time. The region includes TX.
  • Must live in Texas to visit school districts.
