Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy civil underground utilities, earthwork, and plumbing Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing construction projects and providing accurate cost estimates. Your expertise in contract negotiation, project management, and construction estimating will be essential in ensuring the success of our projects. This position is a new position at Grade Solutions and we're looking for an experienced and talented individual that is either running a construction estimating department or someone that has the experience to start an estimating department.
Duties:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Evaluate labor, material, and equipment costs to determine project expenses
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges
- Prepare bid proposals and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors
- Monitor project costs throughout construction to ensure adherence to budget
- Collaborate with the construction management team to develop cost control strategies
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in construction costs
Requirements:
- Proven experience in construction estimating or related field
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques
- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate calculations and cost analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
- Valid driver's license
