About the student
- 10th grade student attending Alexandria Tech.
- The student needs to work with a tutor for General Chemistry 1.
- The student is incredibly bright & hoping to graduate High School with her Associates. She is currently taking college level courses and has run into a wall with her General Chemistry class.
- The overall goal is for the student to pass her Chemistry class.
- Student wants 1 hour sessions 3 times a week. She has limited availability. (Monday and Wednesday from 9am-2pm & Saturday and Sunday from 8am-3pm.)
- Student is seeking a tutor who can meet at her home in Loretto.
Course Description: General Chemistry 1 (CHEM 1010): The overall goal of this course is to give an introduction to general chemistry emphasizing the concepts that will be important for and provide the basis for the subjects you will encounter in their future studies. These concepts include components of matter, atomic theory, stoichiometry, chemical reactions and bonding, thermochemistry, gases, quantum theory, electron configuration, models of bonding, theories of covalent bonding, shapes of molecules and intermolecular forces of liquids, and solids.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidates have prior experience working with college students.
- Ideal candidates will have a strong Chemistry background.
- Willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles)
- Due to insurance requirements, applicants must not be a minor.
Student Availability
MON & WED: 9:00am-2:00pm
SAT & SUN: 8:00am-3:00pm
Pay & Benefits
