About the student
- adult student
- The student needs to work with a tutor for general GED support (math and ELA).
- The student has severe ADHD and severe OCD. The family is asking for a tutor who has special education experience.
- The student is 18 years old. She has not attended school in 2 years. She missed the last 2 years of school due to thyroid cancer treatment and intensive out of state inpatient OCD therapy treatment. She wants to work with a tutor for all subjects so that she can hopefully get the equivalent of her high school diploma.
- The student also wants to work with a tutor for executive functioning, organization, study, and life skills.
- The goal is for the student to work with a tutor who can help her parents determine the best program or options for working towards her high school diploma, to finish academic coursework to get her diploma. To work with a tutor for basic "life" and executive functioning skills.
- The family is asking for 2 hour sessions 5 times a week, from 1pm-3pm, Monday through Friday. This will be the schedule for now but in the future the family will want to change to 2 hour sessions 5 times a week, from 3pm-5pm, Monday through Friday.
- The student is seeking a tutor who can meet at their home in Las Vegas in the Queensridge neighborhood.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidates have prior experience working with adult students.
- Ideal candidates will have prior experience tutoring or teaching special education.
- Ideal candidates can tutor the students in all subjects for the GED, including math and ELA.
- Willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles)
- Due to insurance requirements, applicants must not be a minor.
Student Availability
MON-FRI: 1:00pm-3:00pm
