About the student
- 7th grade student, elementary level
- The student needs to work with a tutor for ELA & math skills.
- The family is asking the tutor to attend classes with the student for 1 hour sessions 5 times a week at his school
- The student is attending 7th grade at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School and he needs to work with a tutor for skill building and classroom help.
- The student is struggling with reading, writing, and math. He reads on a 4th or 5th grade level and he is spelling on a 1st grade level.
- The student has a severe processing disorder. He has to break each task down into smaller steps in order to complete each task. He will be able to give answers verbally. He does have vision issues as well. He struggles to transcribe things from the white board to the paper and he gets overwhelmed trying to listen and take notes in class. He has a big discrepancy between his thoughts and being able to formulate those thoughts on paper. He will need all reading read to him so he can comprehend what is being read. He does have an IEP.
- The goal is for the student is to excel more in class and develop stronger academic skills all around.
- The family wants 1 hour sessions 5 times a week at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School from 9am-10am on Mon & Fri and between 10am-12pm Tuesday through Thursdays.
- The family is seeking a tutor who can meet at the student's school, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School at 501 S Moore Rd in Chattanooga.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with students with special needs students.
- Ideal candidates will have experience working with with students with a processing disorder.
- Ideal candidates will have a valid teaching certificate.
- Ideal candidates will have experience teaching math and ELA skills.
- Willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles)
- Due to insurance requirements, applicants must not be a minor.
Student Availability
MON & FRI: 9:00am-10:00am
TUE & WED & THUR: 10:00am-12:00pm
Pay & Benefits
- $30.00-$35.00 per hour
