Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Group Facilitator to lead engaging, supportive, and transformative group sessions within our PHP/IOP Substance Abuse Programs. In this role, you will create a safe and welcoming environment for diverse populations, including adults, and individuals with substance abuse and mental health challenges. Your expertise will help participants develop coping skills, foster personal growth, and build resilience through evidence-based practices. Responsibilities
- Facilitate group therapy sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and applied behavior analysis to meet clients’ needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies and crisis intervention protocols to ensure participant safety and engagement during sessions.
- Collaborate with case managers, social workers, medical professionals, and educators to coordinate comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, HIPAA-compliant records, and detailed progress notes reflecting session outcomes and client progress.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively for remote group sessions while ensuring confidentiality and technical quality.
- Support clients with diverse backgrounds by addressing issues related to addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, working with children with autism or developmental disabilities, and special education needs.
Experience
- Proven experience in psychotherapy or clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Strong background in group therapy facilitation across various modalities such as behavioral therapy, social work, or psychodynamic approaches.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic purposes and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health.
- Experience working with addiction and 12 Step recovery programs
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and behavior management strategies in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations involving trauma, grief, chronic pain, or PTSD with professionalism and compassion.
