What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant - Tax & Accounting position at Graceffo & Hough PTRS?
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or an accountant early in their career who wants hands-on experience in both tax and accounting. Unlike positions where new staff are limited to one narrow area, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of clients and accounting and tax matters while working directly with experienced CPAs.
What You'll Do
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, S corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.
- Prepare workpapers, trial balances, depreciation schedules, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and related accounting work.
- Perform bank, general ledger, and other account reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll tax, sales tax, and other business filings.
- Work with client accounting records and identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform tax research and assist with federal and state tax questions.
- Use professional accounting and tax software including UltraTax CS, Accounting CS, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and related applications.
- Develop your tax and accounting knowledge through practical, hands-on client work and guidance from experienced CPAs.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
