Duties
- Lead and motivate the barista team to deliver outstanding customer service and high-quality beverages
- Oversee daily café operations, including opening, closing, and shift management
- Ensure all food handling, preparation, and serving adhere to food safety standards and protocols
- Manage POS systems for accurate sales processing and cash handling
- Train staff on proper coffee brewing techniques, food preparation, and customer service best practices
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, supplies, and food items; place orders as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace that complies with health regulations and safety standards
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
- Utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Support sales initiatives by engaging customers and promoting menu items effectively
Requirements
- Proven experience as a barista with strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and food service operations
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a café or retail environment preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems; cash handling experience essential
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to connect with diverse clientele
- Strong understanding of food safety practices, food handling, and basic math for cash register operations
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food preparation standards within the food industry or café environment
- Exceptional communication skills to lead team members and interact positively with customers
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations including sales totals, change handling, and inventory counts
