PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Supervises crews to obtain top-quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork and pride.
- Coordinates, directs and leads workers engaged in plant activities. Assigns work to employees using material and worker requirements data.
- Regularly communicates with maintenance staff about repair and maintenance needs on all plants and major pieces of equipment.
- Relates to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints.
- Identifies the skill sets of all Oahu and neighbor island staff, establishes individualized development plans, and provides appropriate training to ensure competency of staff.
- Directly oversees and supervise all plant labor staff State-wide.
- Proactively solves problems by involving the appropriate parties, incorporating/utilizing the tools of process improvement.
- Establishes and maintains relationships to foster effective problem-solving with plant employees, shop and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
- Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have 10 years of experience as a lead in equipment repairs and have experience with AC plant repairs and operations.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email. Adaptable to in-house software. Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent math aptitude to manipulate numbers quickly and identify discrepancies that might appear on calculations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to discuss, share, obtain technical information with internal and external customers at all levels.
- Must be able to read and understand job, equipment, and environmental requirements/specifications/regulations.
- Ability to read blueprints helpful.
- Valid Hawaii driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
