Business Development Manager

Full Time • Modesto Based • Reports to VP of Sales and Market Development
Grace Moving Company continues to grow its multi-location operations throughout the Central Valley, supporting families and partners across Modesto, Tracy, Clovis/Fresno, and Sonora. As we expand our service lines, strengthen community partnerships, and increase our regional impact, we are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to build high-value relationships, represent our brand in the community, and drive sustained revenue growth.
This is a field-based, relationship-focused role with real sales responsibility. You will develop referral accounts, nurture partner relationships, and quote and book moves through our internal systems. Daily field travel across Modesto, Tracy, Clovis/Fresno, and Sonora is required. This position offers long-term advancement potential, including opportunities to support logistics partnerships and emerging service lines as the company continues to scale.
What You Will DoCommunity Outreach and Relationship Building
• Visit realtor offices, senior living communities, storage facilities, restoration companies, and local businesses
• Build and maintain referral relationships across all markets
• Schedule and deliver presentations, lunch and learns, and outreach meetings
• Maintain an active outreach pipeline with consistent weekly field engagement and follow-up activity
• Support community events, chamber mixers, and partner functions
• Assist in identifying potential logistics clients and commercial opportunities (restoration, e-commerce, FF&E, delivery partners, etc.)
Business Development and Sales
• Build and manage your personal book of business
• Receive referrals from your partners, quote them in SmartMoving, and book moves
• Follow all pricing rules, valuation guidelines, travel fees, and compliance standards
• Log all partner activity, visits, and outcomes in Salesforce
• Provide weekly activity and revenue updates to the VP of Sales and Market Development
• Become trained and authorized to independently quote and book moves once fully ramped
• Support early-stage logistics outreach and help develop new commercial accounts
Marketing and Light Design Support
• Assist in creating basic marketing materials, flyers, and digital assets (Canva or similar tools)
• Support social media content and visibility initiatives
• Refresh and distribute marketing collateral across all markets
• Contribute to branding projects and creative needs for events, presentations, and outreach efforts
Compensation
• $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience
• Gas card
• Company card for approved outreach expenses
• Performance incentives
• 5 percent commission on labor for all moves you personally quote and book through your referral partners
Earning Potential:
Experienced or high-energy performers can earn $50,000 to $70,000 annually in commissions alone, in addition to hourly pay, by building and maintaining a strong personal book of business.
