We currently have an opening for a Supply Chain Manager in our Chemical Compounding department.
The Supply Chain Manager position is a key role within our Operations Team. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted service levels, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the Global supply chain.
Job Functions:
- Plan production for chemical compounding and mixing operations
- Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components to insure adequate supply and safety stock
- Analyze and manage ERP, Source list, Material master/parameters including min max inventory
- Plan and execute procurement of raw materials from global suppliers
- Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers including price, quality, delivery, and payment terms
- Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries
- Proactively report product and material availability issues
- Revise essential system planning data to ensure all systems are reflecting current demand
- Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, reduction and reserve percentage measurements, Product Life Cycle management
- Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in the ERP system
- Supplier Management: RFQ, Cost saving initiatives, Negotiations, Supplier relationship/evaluation
- Project management: Manage material availability for new launches and development projects
- Provide feedback to internal customers on delivery status
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested
- Potential Travel for Supplier visit/tradeshow (1-2 trips annually)
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or minimum 5 years relevant experience.
- Supply Chain (planning & procurement) experience preferred
- Knowledge of Oracle system experience preferred (or SAP or other modern ERP)
- Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
- Effective negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
- Experience with purchasing chemicals and/or fragrance/flavor materials is a plus
- Self-starter who can work independently under pressure & react quickly to changing priorities
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel preferred
