What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Infant Aide position at Grace Lutheran Preschool?
Infant aides will provide a warm, nurturing, Christ-centered, safe and loving environment where children’s faith is nurtured and where self-concepts are enhanced, independence is encouraged, and individuality is respected.
Qualifications:
1. The staff of Grace Lutheran Childcare shall be spiritual, educational and professional leaders of the preschool and church community.
2. The staff shall reflect and commit to the school’s Mission and Philosophy, its Statement of Faith and the overall ministry and well-being of Grace Lutheran Church and School.
3. The infant aide shall have a minimum 6 units in early childhood education or a ROP credited certification.
4. Minimum of 24 months of previous experience.
5. Flexability and willing to assist in other classrooms and assist the lead teachers.

7. Health screening
8. Immunization, TB, Measles. Pertussis, Flu, or Flu waiver
9. CPR Training
10. Mandated Reporter
Duties:
1. Provide assistance with the lead teacher to create a careful and creative program suitable for infants.
2. Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
3. Assists with nap, feedings and snack time. Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.
4. Collaborate with other educators.
5. Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
6. Assists with diapering and sleeping infant monitoring
Provide Instruction
1. Accept, adhere to, and promote, without reservation, the Statement of Purpose and the Statement of Faith (see GLS Personnel Manual).
2. Provide assistances with opportunities for input and evaluation of program.
3. Set up and maintain appropriate, nurturing classroom/childcare environment.
4. Attempt to meet needs of each child.
5. Correspond with families.
6. Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings
7. Participate in professional and spiritual growth activities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
