Essential Functions
- Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, residents, and families under the guidance of a chaplain or spiritual care leader.
- Assist in planning and facilitating worship services, meditation sessions, or faith-based gatherings as directed.
- Offer presence, listening, and companionship to those experiencing illness, grief, or life transitions.
- Coordinate requests for clergy or faith representatives from different traditions.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for diverse beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds.
- Document visits and interactions according to organizational protocols.
- Support bereavement care and memorial services as needed.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, preparing materials, or maintaining sacred spaces.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when working or interacting with physicians, patients, their families, other providers and other staff members.
- Occasion twisting, reaches at shoulder height occasionally, reaches above or below shoulder height occasionally, occasionally bending
- Lifts and carries up to 25lbs
- 60% of workday is spent sitting, 30% walking, 10% standing
- Adapts to frequent interruptions/changing situations
- Follows/adheres to organization, federal, and state regulations and guidelines, including Resident/Client rights.
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
- Collaborate with: Nursing, Social Work, Volunteers, and other staff.
- Comfortable in an interfaith setting.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
- Maintains neat, well-groomed appearance, adhering to dress code of organization/program.
- Local travel required.
