Church Steward

Job Summary

The Church Steward plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall welcoming environment of the church facility. This position involves ensuring that the church premises are well-kept, organized, and prepared for worship services, community events, and daily activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting the church's mission by creating a respectful and inviting space for all visitors and congregation members.

Responsibilities

• 1. Serve as the central contact for office operations, providing a warm and professional presence for visitors and callers.
• 1. Manage phones, mail (incoming & outgoing), email, and greet visitors at the door.
• 1. Handle distribution of invoices for approval and payment.
• 1. Perform scanning and printing duties.
• 1. Manage office supplies, equipment, and contracts, coordinate maintenance and service calls.
• 1. Manage church scheduling, calendar, and facility requests, ensuring coordination with ministries and outside groups.
• 1. Maintain a consistent weekday presence in the church for 15–20 hours per week to serve the community.
• 1. Assist with organizing and cleaning the office.
• 1. Update and maintain the outside sign and assist with donation collection.
• 1. Collaborate with volunteers for worship material preparation and gradually learn these tasks.

Qualifications

• 1. Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
• 1. Ability to monitor door and manage visitor flow.
• 1. Proficiency in email and basic office software.
• 1. Organizational and time-management skills.
• 1. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• 1. Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
