What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler/Preschool Childcare Teacher position at Grace Lutheran Childcare?
Opening for part-time Preschool/ Toddler Teacher to work in Christian childcare setting. Expected work hours are 8:00 am to 1:00 pm OR 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Our teachers are key individuals in sharing the love of Jesus with the children while building relationships with the parents we serve.
Duties include:
- supervision of and engagement with children in the classroom and outdoors
- engaging children in activities such as music, art, fine and gross motor activities, and dramatic play
- relating and engaging with parents during morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up
- assisting with diaper changes, restroom assistance
- assisting with rest cots and nap time
- assisting with lunch and morning or afternoon snack
- working with other staff members to maintain a clean and safe environment
- assisting with morning or closing classroom cleaning and organization
Applicants must:
- Have or be able to obtain portable background check/fingerprint clearance through WA MERIT registry prior to first day of employment
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (WA State Initial EC Certification or higher preferred - compensation increase with higher levels of education)
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be active in a local Christian church
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Have had a TB test in the last 12 months or obtain a TB test before the first day of employment
- Have completed WA Child Care Basics Training or complete as a condition of employment
- Must have or be willing to acquire First Aid/CPR card, WA Food Workers Card, HIV/Blood-borne Pathogens Training, and complete on-going yearly training requirements
