Job Overview

- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education principles
- Manage classroom environments to promote positive behavior management and effective classroom management strategies
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and specialists to develop and execute individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor student progress and adapt instruction accordingly
- Provide mentorship and support to assistant teachers and student teachers, fostering professional growth
- Incorporate speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, and behavioral therapy practices to support students’ communication and social skills
- Maintain detailed documentation of student development, behavior management plans, and progress reports in compliance with educational standards
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to deaf education, working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, curriculum development, and classroom best practices
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood or preschool settings
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices across diverse learner populations
- Expertise in special education strategies, including IEP development and implementation
- Proficiency in curriculum development tailored for early learners with disabilities or developmental delays
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families, colleagues, and external specialists
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with autism, hearing impairments, or other disabilities
- Familiarity with behavioral health techniques and behavioral management strategies
- Experience working with standardized testing tools and assessment procedures
- Knowledge of Montessori or preschool educational philosophies is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to mentor staff while fostering a positive team environment
- Commitment to inclusive education practices that promote literacy education, math skills, library services integration, and overall child wellbeing
