POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure the cleanliness of residents’ apartments within the independent living facilities, personal care and skilled nursing, as well as the public areas within each of those facilities.

Minimum Preferred
Education High School diploma
Experience 1 year previous cleaning experience in a retirement community or similar. 3 years previous cleaning experience in a retirement community or similar and supervisory experience.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
This individual must be able to speak and read the English language in an understandable manner in order to communicate with residents, employees, family members, volunteers and the public. Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from residents and the general public.
MATH ABILITY:
Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure the cleanliness of residents’ apartments within the independent living facilities, personal care and skilled nursing, as well as the public areas within each of those facilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cover in Housekeeping and Laundry when assigned person is absent.
- Give direction to the employees in the housekeeping and laundry department in the absence of the Director.
- Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Inventory and order supplies in absence of Director.
- Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping and laundry equipment.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
- Report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor.
- Dispense soap, paper, and other housekeeping supplies.
- Attend in-service training programs for Housekeeping and Laundry employees.
- Observe infection control procedures related to the Housekeeping and Laundry department.
- Follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times.
- Adhere to the safety program.
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Assist with weather related emergencies and other emergencies as directed by the Director.
- Assist with the set up and clean-up of dining rooms for resident meals.
- Adheres to the Values and Expectations statement and element of the compliance program.
