We are looking for an experienced Hotel Accounting Specialist to support the accounting functions for a portfolio of hotel properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands hotel accounting and enjoys solving problems, not simply entering transactions.

The right person will have experience working in the hotel industry and understand how a hotel’s Property Management System (PMS), Point-of-Sale systems, merchant processors, M3 accounting system, and bank accounts all connect.

When something doesn’t reconcile, we need someone who wants to figure out why.

What You’ll Do

· Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple hotel properties.

· Process accounts payable invoices and properly code expenses.

· Prepare and process checks/vendor payments.

· Perform general ledger and balance-sheet account reconciliations.

· Prepare journal entries, corrections, reclassifications, and month-end adjustments.

· Reconcile merchant and credit card deposits to bank activity.

· Research discrepancies between bank statements, PMS systems, POS systems, merchant statements, and the general ledger.

· Assist with month-end closing activities.

· Work directly with hotel teams and outside vendors/processors to resolve accounting discrepancies.

· Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and prevent recurring reconciliation issues.

You have an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership of problems until they are solved.

Most importantly, you understand that hotel accounting can require detective work. If a deposit doesn’t match, you’re comfortable going into the PMS, POS system, merchant statement, bank activity, and accounting system to trace the transaction and determine exactly what happened.

Ideal Qualifications

· Previous hotel/hospitality accounting experience.

· Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).

· Familiarity with Point-of-Sale systems and merchant processing.

· Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations.

· Accounts payable and general ledger experience.

· Experience preparing and posting journal entries.

· Strong Excel skills.

· Previous experience with M3 accounting software is a plus.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to independently manage accounting responsibilities across multiple hotel properties.

Experience supporting accounting for multiple hotels or entities is strongly preferred.
