ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Professionally investigates and resolves patient issues.
- Creates a welcoming and professional environment for our patients and visitors by demonstrating exceptional customer service.
- Proactively manages the needs of patients.
- Follows standards and guidelines for telephones etiquette and service when interacting with patients over the phone.
- Effectively collaborates and communicates with clinical staff, i.e. providers, nurses and other support staff.
- Supports and adheres to compliance policies and procedures.
- Knowledgeable and follows all HIPAA laws.
- Schedule pre-op appointments with the provider.
- Schedule surgery with provider at hospital.
- Contact insurance companies for benefits and authorizations.
- Contact patient and inform of benefits and surgery information.
- Coordinate surgery days with providers.
- Execute reports in EPM for quality of consent and authorizations.
- Maintain tubal consents and hysterectomy consents according to the recommended standards set by the law.
- Obtain all surgery consents from patients.
- Communicate effectively with billing staff.

- Team members will participate in the review and evaluation processes of practice performance and help to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Team members will participate in Grace Health's advocacy program.
- Follow policies and procedures of the office, including administrative, clinical, quality assurance, and personnel.
- Maintain good attendance (daily, meetings, and other assignment tasks).
- Maintain timely documentation of all work assignments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Routinely keep the supervisor informed about attendance and job assignments.
- Flexible in being able to multitask.
- Work effectively and at an efficient pace.
- Work cooperatively with physicians, administration, and peers.

Provide excellent customer service to patients and family members:
- Communicate in a manner consistent with positive patient relations.

- Provide helpful assistance in anticipating and responding to the needs of all patients and family members.

Other miscellaneous tasks could include:
- Assist with the orientation and training of other employees.
- Maintain or initiates faxes.
- Maintain desk and/or clinic supplies.
- Sort and distribute mail.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of practice.
SKILLS:

- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiar with Electronic Medical Record.
- Must have completed high school or equivalent.
- Must have past experience with Referrals and Authorizations.
- Prefer 1-year Medical Office experience. LPN or RN Preferred.
