$17 an hour ($19.60 once certification has been obtained)

OVERVIEW: The first 12 weeks are spent in the classroom where you will study the CareerStep program. The next 12 weeks will be spent training with a preceptor on the clinical floor. After successful completion of the CareerStep curriculum and clinical floor training, you will take the CCMA exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. The last 6 months of the program consists of mentorship – you will be paired with a mentor within your assigned work area. The CCMA Apprenticeship is a competitive and intensive program where expectations are high and there are times that outside studying will be expected.
EXAMPLES OF MEDICAL ASSISTANT DUTIES: (This list is not all inclusive)
- Obtains accurate patient data
- Documents in the medical record
- Prepares exam room and procedure rooms
- Assists provider during exams and procedure
- Administers medications, per written order
- Provides educational materials to patient/family
- Provides explanation of lab results, diagnostic testing results and provider orders to patient/family
- Assists with cleaning and stocking of exam rooms and suites
- Performs CLIA waived testing
- General office duties, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of High school diploma or GED
- One year of work experience in a medical office setting preferred
Salary : $17 - $20
