Grace Daycare & Learning Center is looking for a caring, energetic, and reliable Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our team!
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Position Overview
This role will primarily provide classroom coverage for teacher breaks throughout the day and will finish each afternoon assisting in our Preschool classroom. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children of different age groups in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Job Description
Grace Daycare & Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with young children in an early childhood education setting. This position is perfect for someone who is eager to contribute to a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for children ages 3 months to 6 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities aligned with the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS).
- Cover teacher breaks in multiple classrooms while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
- Provide afternoon support in the Preschool classroom.
- Support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in classroom setup and cleanup, including organizing materials and supplies.
- Maintain open communication with parents, caregivers, and team members.
- Assist with individual and group activities that promote learning and growth in literacy, art, gross and fine motor skills, and social development.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in early childhood education or a related field is required.
- Must have or be willing to obtain early childhood education credits (CDA or college-level coursework in Early Childhood Education).
- Ability to engage with young children and create a positive, supportive classroom environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, flexibility, reliability, and a genuine passion for early childhood development.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
