Overview:

As our Dental Biller, you will manage the financial and insurance side of our pediatric dental practice and play a key role in keeping our office running smoothly. You’ll work closely with our doctors, office manager, front office team, and the families we serve to ensure claims are submitted correctly, payments are posted accurately, and parents understand their benefits and balances with confidence.

This is a role for someone who is organized, proactive, and thrives on details. You’ll need a solid understanding of dental insurance, CDT coding, and billing workflows, along with a friendly, helpful communication style.

Schedule (days/hours):

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

In-office position only

Compensation range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

· Insurance Verification: Confirm patient insurance eligibility and coverage before appointments. Accurately enter and maintain insurance details in our system.

· Billing & Coding: Apply correct CDT codes for procedures and follow coding best practices to reduce errors and maximize reimbursement.

· Claims Submission: Prepare and submit dental claims (electronic and paper as needed). Track claim status, correct rejections/denials quickly, and resubmit promptly.

· Payment Processing: Post payments from insurance and families accurately, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

· Patient Billing: Generate statements for outstanding balances. Explain benefits and billing clearly to parents, and assist with payment plans when appropriate.

· Appeals & Denials Management: Investigate denied claims, collect supporting documentation, and submit thorough, timely appeals.

· Record Maintenance: Keep billing records accurate and well-organized, including demographics, insurance, and account history. Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.

· Communication: Serve as a kind, professional point of contact for billing questions from parents, insurance representatives, and team members.

· Revenue Cycle Support: Help improve processes, reduce claim delays, and support consistent collections so our practice can continue delivering excellent care.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in dental billing, medical billing, or healthcare administration strongly preferred.

· Working knowledge of CDT codes, dental insurance plans, and reimbursement processes.

· Comfortable using dental billing/practice management software.

· Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to explain billing clearly and respectfully to parents.

· Highly detail-oriented, dependable, and solutions-focused.

· Able to prioritize tasks, manage time well, and work independently while still being a great teammate.

· Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to patient privacy and data security.
