We are looking for a dependable, flexible, and compassionate Full-Time Floater Caregiver to join our team and provide care to clients throughout our service area.
Position Overview
The Floater Caregiver is a unique full-time position designed to provide coverage wherever care is needed. This employee will assist with open shifts, last-minute call-outs, emergency staffing needs, and scheduled assignments across our client base.
This position requires completely open availability and the ability to respond to urgent staffing needs. Your schedule and client assignments may change from day to day based on agency needs. The ideal candidate is flexible, reliable, comfortable with changing routines, and willing to step in wherever they are needed to ensure our clients continue receiving quality care.
In exchange for this flexibility, the position offers 40 guaranteed hours per week at $16 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Fill open caregiver shifts as needed, including urgent and last-minute coverage.
- Respond promptly to requests for shift coverage and staffing emergencies.
- Provide dependable care to clients across different homes and assignments.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene, as assigned.
- Prepare meals, provide companionship, and assist with light housekeeping.
- Provide medication reminders in accordance with the client's care plan.
- Assist with errands and transportation when assigned and authorized.
- Follow individualized care plans, agency policies, and safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, office staff, and other caregivers.
- Document care provided and report changes in client condition, safety concerns, or incidents promptly.
- Maintain a professional, compassionate, and dependable attitude at every assignment.
Requirements
- Must have completely open availability and be willing to work varying shifts based on agency needs.
- Must be available to fill shifts on short notice, including urgent staffing needs.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between client homes throughout the assigned service area.
- Must demonstrate punctuality, dependability, flexibility, and professionalism.
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be comfortable working independently in clients' homes.
- Must be able to follow care plans and agency policies.
- Previous caregiving or home-care experience is preferred.
- Must meet applicable agency hiring requirements, including required background checks and other screenings.
