Commercial Real Estate Paralegal
Providence, RI area
As a Real Estate Paralegal, you'll support transactions from start to finish — drafting documents, managing transactional files, and coordinating the closing of corporate and real estate deals. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and brings a strong understanding of corporate structures and UCC matters. What You'll Do
- Draft and review real estate transaction documents, including closing checklists, purchase and sale agreements (primarily commercial), lease agreements, and closing documents/statements
- Draft term sheets and commitment letters on behalf of lender clients, as well as loan and modification documents (notes, mortgages, guaranties, security agreements)
- Prepare and file UCC financing statements, amendments, and terminations
- File recordable documents with various State and County recording offices
- Conduct and analyze legal and factual research related to real estate transactions
- Review title commitments and policies (including exception documents and endorsements), surveys, and general due diligence (UCC and other search results), summarizing issues for attorney review
- Resolve title and survey issues as needed
- Secure UCC, judgment, lien, and pending litigation searches
- File Bulk Sale Notices for asset and commercial real estate transactions and secure tax clearance certificates
- Download, organize, and inventory due diligence documentation from client data sites
- Maintain checklists for loan, real estate, asset, and stock transactions
- Manage preparation, assembly, and compilation of closing documents, and coordinate signature gathering with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Coordinate with opposing counsel, title companies, local counsel, and client representatives throughout transactions
- Prepare closing binders
What We're Looking For
- Strong professional communication skills across all levels of personnel
- 8 years of experience with commercial real estate transactions and closings, including title, financing, lien searches, and tax clearance (AIA contract experience a plus)
- Excellent client service skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and independently
- Flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to shifting priorities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a paralegal at a law firm, professional services firm, or corporation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based systems
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software
Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
