What you’ll do every day:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, timely, and in compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements.
- Support audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and maintaining organized documentation.
- Partner with AP, AR, Payroll, and Inventory teams to ensure transaction accuracy and proper GL coding.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation entries, and related reconciliations.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline close cycles and enhance accuracy.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on general ledger or corporate accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
- Experience reconciling high-volume accounts in an ERP environment (QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, or Acumatica a plus).
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to analyze and reconcile data quickly and accurately.
- High attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Bonus: Experience in eCommerce, retail, or inventory-heavy environments.
- Bonus: CPA or working toward certification.
