Heavy Capacity Technician (Field Service Technician)
Romulus, MI
Full Time | $25-$28 per hour
Join a West Michigan Best and Brightest Company as a Heavy Capacity Technician servicing our customers measurement needs on the East Side! This individual will travel to customer sites, utilizing their electrical and mechanical expertise to deliver critical measurement solutions to our industrial customers.
Essential Functions:
- Perform installations, preventative maintenance & calibration, troubleshooting & repair on customer equipment in agriculture and aggregate industries
- Configure electronic measurement equipment to customer specifications
- Act as the "subject-matter-expert" through customer interactions by way of project updates, operator training, and equipment improvements
- Document test and calibration data within GRM's proprietary calibration software system
- Travel to customer sites, daily, utilizing company (CDL) vehicles
- Operate heavy machinery such as, forklifts, material lifts, and testing units
- Perform mechanical tasks as it relates to the job e.g. welding, torching
- Overnight travel within the state, roughly 5-10%
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical, electrical and / or technical background in industrial setting
- Experience welding, preferred
- Satisfactory MVR and valid CDL Class B license, or ability to obtain license within six (6) months of employment
- Professional communication skills verbally, orally, and via electronic correspondence
- Able to lift and carry 50lb weights, repetitively; able to bend, crawl, and stand for continuous periods
