What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Governance Lead position at GQR?
We’re hiring a Data Governance Lead to help build and run our enterprise governance framework across investment banking, equities, and wealth management. You’ll work with data architects, business partners, and technology teams to ensure trusted, well-defined data across our Databricks lakehouse, CRM platforms, reporting, analytics, and GenAI initiatives. This is a longterm, multiyear contract.
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain the firmwide data governance framework, policies, and stewardship model.
Define governance for core data domains (companies, contacts, deals, funds, clients, sponsors).
Lead data quality monitoring, dashboards, exception handling, and remediation processes.
Align definitions, semantics, and survivorship rules with Solution Architects and business teams.
Identify and onboard data owners/stewards across business units.
Create training, documentation, and communication materials to support governance adoption.
What We’re Looking For
6–8 years in data governance or data management (financial services preferred).
Strong knowledge of governance practices, data quality, and issue management.
Experience with Databricks, SQL, and tools like Jupyter, Excel, and BI platforms.
Familiarity with CRM/deal platforms (DealCloud, Salesforce).
Python for basic automation and data quality work is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and comfort influencing senior stakeholders.
Organized, proactive, and able to balance strategy with hands-on execution.
Salary : $80 - $90
