Position Overview
Ascend Academy is seeking a reliable and vigilant School Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. This part-time role is ideal for individuals who are attentive, professional, and committed to school safety.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor school premises to ensure the safety and security of students and staff
Control access to the building, including visitor check-in and verification
Patrol school grounds and respond to any security concerns or incidents
Support staff during arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the day
Assist in emergency situations following school safety protocols
Document incidents and maintain accurate security reports
Build positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
