CNC Programmer–Operator (VMC/HMC)

About the Role

• Set up and run horizontal & vertical machining centers for production and prototype work.
• Read prints and apply GD&T; follow written and verbal instructions from engineering/supervision.
• Edit/optimize G‑code and suggest program improvements at the machine.
• Conduct at‑machine “First Piece” inspection of all checkable features; adjust as needed, then submit for First Article approval.
• Capture accurate job times in the ERP system and coordinate with production planning.
• Use pin gages, micrometers, calipers, and other hand metrology for in‑process checks.
• Practice Good Machining Practices (GMP), sustain 5S, and follow all safety procedures.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership to drive process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of CNC machining experience, with proven machine set‑ups for production runs.
• Proficiency in G‑code, CNC tooling, GD&T interpretation, and blueprint reading.
• Experience with: CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC) — Mazak, Haas, Doosan; CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) — Mazak.
• Competency performing in‑process inspections using standard precision tools.
• Full personal tool kit appropriate for CNC set‑ups and operations.
• Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent). Completion of an accredited, indentured apprenticeship or high school plus a 2‑year technical school is preferred.
• Language: English required. Traits: dependable, positive attitude.
