Responsibilities Of The Transportation Project Manager Include
- Oversite of teams conducting work on transportation projects, including roadway design, traffic operations, roadway design, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental assessments.
- Managing the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for various projects
- Reviewing preliminary and final plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates, making necessary recommendations for modifications
- Participating in contract bidding and administration as needed
- Supervising and observing project design and progress, coordinating with City, State, and County officials and other agencies
- Supervising junior engineers and technical support personnel
- Coordinating projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff
- Communicating and interacting with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate
- Resolving complex problems, such as conflicting design requirements and difficult coordination requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- 10 years of experience in the transportation industry
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is required
- Demonstrated working knowledge of software systems: HCS, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, CORSIM, VISSIM, CUBE, TransCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office
- Experience with DOT projects
