What You'll Do
- Take ownership of daily orchard operations - from planting and pruning to harvest and beyond.
- Monitor orchards for plant health, pests, and soil conditions while implementing cutting-edge growing practices.
- Lead and mentor a diverse workforce, ensuring safety, productivity, and teamwork.
- Oversee crop schedules, spray programs, irrigation, and nutrient applications.
- Be the go-to leader during harvest - directing crews, coordinating equipment, and delivering results.
- Keep accurate records and stay ahead of compliance standards (food safety, pesticide applications, etc.).
- Collaborate with the management team while also rolling up your sleeves in the field.
- At least 5 years of orchard management experience (commercial apple production strongly preferred).
- A strong horticultural background with a passion for modern, sustainable practices.
- Experience managing pesticide programs on a farm/orchard.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Spanish proficiency a big plus!).
- A leader who can balance planning with hands-on work - and motivate others to do their best.
- Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and a knack for accurate record-keeping.
- Valid driver's license required; pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain) needed.
- Mechanical aptitude is a bonus!
