Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of general liability matters, including personal injury, property damage, and premises liability claims
- Manage cases from initial intake through settlement, mediation, or trial preparation
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions, including parties, witnesses, and experts
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
- Evaluate liability exposure and advise clients on strategy and risk
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and staff to deliver efficient case outcomes
- Stay current on Washington liability law and procedural rules
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association
- 3-8 years of experience in general liability, insurance defense, or civil litigation
- Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Experience managing a litigation caseload with increasing autonomy
- Deposition and court experience required
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
