This position offers the opportunity to work on complex commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional, and mission-critical projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary design and construction professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection system design, code compliance, and life safety engineering with a minimum of three years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop fire protection systems including fire sprinkler, fire alarm, special hazards, and life safety systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis.
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Review project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct site surveys and perform field evaluations as necessary.
- Support permitting, plan review, and AHJ coordination efforts.
- Provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client discussions.
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of fire protection engineering experience.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
- Experience designing fire sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
- Experience with hydraulic calculation software.
- NICET certification.
- Healthcare, industrial, data center, manufacturing, or large commercial project experience.
- Familiarity with performance-based fire protection design.
