Due to continued growth, we are confidentially seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations, ensure accuracy, and support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced rural environment.
Reporting directly to ownership, the Controller will manage all accounting functions, supervise office staff, and maintain operational efficiency using AgVance software. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring agriculture industry knowledge and a process-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting (A/P, A/R, payroll, reconciliations, month-end close)
- Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax filings, and agricultural co-op/retail regulations
- Lead and develop a small office team (2-4 staff)
- Optimize AgVance for inventory, grain settlements, customer accounts, and reporting
- Streamline office administration, filing systems, and internal controls
- Collaborate with agronomy, sales, and operations teams on cost analysis and profitability
- Agriculture (retail, co-op, grain, or agronomy operations)
- AgVance Software (hands-on daily use - invoicing, inventory, reporting)
- Supervising (direct reports in office or retail setting)
- Office Administration (workflow management, documentation, compliance)
- Accounting Processes & Filing (A/P, A/R, reconciliations, audit prep)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Ag Business (preferred)
- Experience with agricultural lending, patronage, or equity redemption
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with ERP systems
- Ability to thrive in a rural, customer-facing environment
