Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimations.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and other project expenses.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare detailed estimates and proposals.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and present estimates to management and clients, explaining cost breakdowns and assumptions.
- Track and maintain records of project costs, changes, and updates throughout the construction process.
- Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
