Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize chemical process systems for air pollution control (scrubbers, absorbers, thermal oxidizers, etc.)
- Perform mass and energy balances, reaction kinetics analysis, and process modeling
- Support process design calculations, including fluid flow, heat transfer, and chemical treatment efficiency
- Collaborate with mechanical and project engineers on system integration and equipment sizing
- Evaluate chemical compatibility, reagent selection, and waste stream treatment methods
- Assist in troubleshooting and improving existing systems for performance and compliance
- Interface with clients to understand process requirements and provide technical solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required)
- 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in environmental, air pollution control, or chemical processing industries
- Strong understanding of:
- Fluid dynamics and gas/liquid interaction systems
- Reaction engineering and separation processes
- Heat and mass transfer principles
- Experience with scrubber systems, VOC control, or emissions treatment is highly preferred
- Proficiency in engineering calculations and process simulation tools
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a project-based environment
- Work on custom-engineered systems, not repetitive production work
- High visibility role with direct impact on environmental compliance and sustainability
