Position Overview
The attorney will represent creditors, financial institutions, businesses, and other clients in a variety of bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of bankruptcy law and experience handling matters from initial strategy through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Represent creditors and other interested parties in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters
- Handle bankruptcy litigation, contested matters, and adversary proceedings
- Represent clients in foreclosure, collections, replevin, and other creditors' rights matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings
- Analyze financial and legal issues and develop effective case strategies
- Communicate directly with clients and provide practical legal advice
- Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and support staff
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in SC
- 2 years of bankruptcy, creditors' rights, commercial litigation, or related experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience appearing in court is preferred
- Ability to independently manage matters and work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
