What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Abuse Counselor position at GPA Treatment?
We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our opiate addiction treatment center located in the Doraville/Tucker area. The ideal candidate must be a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC or CADC) or actively pursuing certification.
**Key Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a substance abuse counselor, providing both individual and/or group counseling.
- Available to work Monday through Friday, from 6 AM to 1 PM, with every other Thursday off, and every other Saturday from 8am to 11am.
- Experience working in addiction treatment, with a preference for those familiar with fast-paced, team-based environments.
**Core Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive substance abuse counseling services.
- Manage intake admissions, discharges, and documentation.
- Fulfill human and social services tasks efficiently and responsibly.
- Ensure timely completion of session notes, treatment plans, and other essential documentation.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on recovery, sobriety, life skills, and substance use disorders.
