Job Position: Welding Technician
Position Summary
Under general direction / supervision from the Industrial Production Supervisor, the Welding Technician is responsible for the preparation of welding component parts and subassemblies to meet order demand and schedules.Key Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welds all components of sub assembly parts using correct weld schedules, heat sinks and work instructions
- Prepares items to be welded via cleaning or other approved methods
- Inspects critical welds by eye or by microscope to ensure weld integrity
- Assists other departments or performs other related duties as necessary
- Verifies Bills of Materials to be correct
- Inspects majority of welds performed by Welding Technicians
Needed Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple diagrams and related drawings
- Ability to complete tasks as directed on shop travelers / work instructions
- Ability to verify acceptable quality of all work as required
- Ability to maintain records in an organized, orderly fashion
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with any combination of school and related experience that will provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance.
