QA/QC Lead (Indiana)

Goyette Mechanical is currently seeking dedicated and experienced QA/QC Lead to lead our Construction QA/Q Team in Northern/NW Indiana. Job Description Summary

• Lead a team of QA/QC technicians to ensure the installed work is to standard and specification.
• Lead and perform walk throughs of the work being done to make sure that work is installed to a quality standard and to code/spec.
• Record accurate observations into a spreadsheet or computer database (Procore).
• Communicate observations to the PM, PM Assistant, trade leadership, and applicable personnel so they can respond promptly.
• Report to the site project manager to keep them advised of QA/QC activities, observations, and their completion status
• Lead, attend, and engage in QA/QC meetings and jobsite walks.
• Coordinate and/or schedule inspections and testing through the AHJ or with the customer directly.
• Train, mentor, and develop QA/QC Team Technicians ensuring individuals are cross-trained.
• Verify team completion of QA/QC Team tasks and documentation completion.
• Document and share QA/QC Team processes, procedures, and best practices for team-wide knowledge and use.
• Maintain good customer relationships and problem-solve as issues arise.
• Contribute knowledge, information, best practices, and lessons learned as part of the Construction QA/QC Team.
• Other managerial duties as assigned.

• Principally field work on Construction job sites; some time spent in office or onsite job trailer for admin & logistics.
• Job requires occasional work at-heights and occasional work outside to include in inclement weather.
• Medium duty: Prolonged standing, crouching, and movement on foot across unimproved terrain throughout work site.
• On-site transportation provided, when available.

Qualifications:

• 3-4 years experience of mechanical systems pertaining to plumbing/pipefitting and HVAC and/or applicable QA/QC and/or applicable mission critical experience
• 1-2 years of demonstrated success as a manager and/or QA/QC team lead.
• Must be able to lead, foster, and support a teamwork environment, placing a high emphasis on team development, team success, communication, and excellent customer service.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• High attention-to-detail, documentation clarity, and accuracy are highly critical in this role.
• Experience & technical skills with clear verbal & written communication skills to variety of audiences including GC, subs, and vendors.
• Exceptional work ethic and eagerness to learn and grow.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze a situation, identify problems, troubleshoot, and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to maintain and update spreadsheets and other tracking software.
• Must be able to foster and support a teamwork environment through a positive and professional attitude, placing a high emphasis on collaboration and good customer service.
• Leadership, task clarity, documentation, and attention-to-detail are highly critical in this role.
• Proven ability to foster a positive and productive safety culture while promoting cooperation and improved morale throughout the team.
• Previous Procore experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook are required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and any site-specific background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Mission Critical experience and/or strong familiarity.
• Previous successful Construction QA/QC experience
• Local to the Greater Hobart/Wheatfield area (within 60-minute drive)
• 5 years’ experience in applicable QA/QC roles.
