Quality Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for running the quality program, ensuring that all manufacturing processes and products meet Gowan’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves supervising QC processes, ensuring compliance, managing documentation, and addressing any nonconformities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with production staff, QC chemists, and the corporate quality team to ensure consistent quality across all operations. They will also provide technical guidance on quality issues and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Responsibilities:
- Work as a team with other lab personnel on duty to make sure all necessary tasks are completed correctly and timely
- Operation of the laboratory in conjunction with the QC Mgr and Analytical Supv.
- Maintain laboratory records and forward analytical results to customers as requested
- Prepare sample plans, product specifications and formulations for the production units
- Train and supervise lab technicians in laboratory record-keeping procedures
- Order and maintain inventory of routine laboratory supplies in the absence of the QC Mgr.
- Ensure prompt and correct sample shipments to customers
- Manage QC database & prepare monthly summaries of laboratory results
- Oversee instrument calibrations and maintenance per ISO 9000 requirements
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or Associates degree at a minimum, in chemistry or a closely related field
- Three years experience in laboratory testing and in ISO 9000 procedures
- Strong working knowledge of formulation of agricultural chemicals
- Proficient in operation of personal computers using standard office software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during inspections and audits.
- Willingness to respond to plant quality issues outside of regular business hours, if necessary.
