Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for participating in the direct care of residents as well as supervising all non-professional personnel in the Nursing Department. The Licensed Practical Nurse is to act in the capacity of a supervisor when the Executive Director (ED) and Director of Nursing (DON) are not present in the facility. They administer, stock, and dispose of medications in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The LPN ensures that the CNA/RA are properly administering services and that there is adequate CNA/RA coverage on each shift.
We currently have a FULL TIME DAYSHIFT POSITION AVAILABLE. (5:45AM-6:15PM)
Duties
- Comply with Resident Rights and other Policies and Procedures
- Monitor and administer medications to residents according to physician orders
- Order and reorder medication as needed to ensure residents have medications at all times
- Answer resident call alarms promptly
- Make routine rounds to check on all residents
- Aid with personal care (i.e., grooming, dressing, oral care, etc.) for residents daily and as needed
- Follow procedures for sanitary and safe handling of food items, linens, supplies, and equipment
- Assist resident in preparing for meals and assist with transportation to the dining room when needed
- Assist residents to activities, and other interests in accommodation of their needs and preferences
- Record resident information as assigned
- Obtain and record vital signs when needed
- Weigh and measure residents as needed
- Observe residents carefully and report changes in conditions to DON or ED.
- Document nursing care effectively and in a manner that justifies changes and demonstrates that the individualized service plan is being followed
- Provide residents and family members with written and oral instructions relevant to medication/treatment at time of discharge
- Assist with resolution of resident/family concerns
- Assist with new residents’ belongings as needed
- Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas
- Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control
- Attend in-service education programs as necessary
- Cooperate with other departments to ensure that the Nursing Department can be adequately maintained to meet resident needs
- Others as directed by the DON and/or ED
