Key Responsibilities
- Under general direction, manages the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems.
- Responsible for evaluating current systems. Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.
- Plans large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Provides work leadership and training to lower level network engineers.
- Requires expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications.
- Performance shall include:
- Designing and defining system architecture for new or existing computer systems
- Applying proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments
- Designing, implementing and managing high availability/clustering and disaster recovery environment
- Supporting establishment of plans and templates in line with the overall technical architecture format and program infrastructure platform
- Completing technical documentation to design, test, implement, train, and transition solutions to operational support
- Troubleshooting and deep dive into VMware infrastructure. Other application experience is helpful: Exchange Server, Active Directory, Azure, VPN, and other relevant IT related technologies
- Monitoring, administer, and maintain vCenter modules and configurations
- Supporting implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of VMware components to include vCenter Server, ESXi Hosts, Standard/Distributed vSwitches, vSphere Data Protection, Operations Manager, etc.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining a hybrid cloud integrate with multiple public cloud service providers
- Researching/assisting in development, and/or participating in hands-on installation, configuration, and maintenance of large enterprise applications.
- Includes troubleshooting hardware, software, network and system production issues, supporting deployment of other Storage and OS configuration components, automation and upgrade, Continuity of
- Operation, backup and recovery
- Other Requirements:
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers
- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
Education:
- Bachelors Degree and 7 year of relevant experience OR Associates and 9 year of experience OR 11 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- IAT Level 2
