MRI Technologist – Mobile MRI Unit (VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA)

Employment Type: Contract (W-2 with our company; assigned to VA facility) Location: Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, Louisiana Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Monday / Wednesday / Friday Pay: $45–$55/hour, based on experience — plus monthly scan bonus

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team supporting a mobile MRI trailer stationed at the VA Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. In this role, you'll provide high-quality imaging services to our nation's veterans in a dedicated, single-modality mobile unit. You'll be an employee of our company, contracted to deliver imaging services on-site at the VA — giving you the structure and support of a dedicated employer with the mission-driven satisfaction of serving those who served.

Schedule & Volume

• Three 12-hour shifts per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
• Approximately 20 patient scans per day
• Full-time hours with a condensed, predictable weekly schedule

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay: $45–$55/hour, commensurate with experience
• Monthly scan bonus: Additional earning potential based on monthly scan volume thresholds

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI scans on veteran patients in a mobile trailer setting
• Position patients correctly and select appropriate imaging protocols
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the scanning process, including MRI safety screening
• Maintain and troubleshoot mobile MRI equipment, coordinating with service teams as needed
• Accurately document scans and maintain patient records in compliance with VA and company standards
• Collaborate with VA staff, radiologists, and referring providers to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintain compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards (ACR, state licensure, etc.)

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in MRI
• Current state licensure as required
• Prior MRI experience required; mobile unit experience a plus
• BLS certification
• Ability to pass VA background check and credentialing requirements
• Strong communication skills and comfort working independently in a mobile unit setting
• Compassion and professionalism when working with veteran patients
