Our client is seeking a highly qualified Technical Writer with an active Secret Clearance to work on our project in Warner Robins, Ga. The selected candidate will be able to communicate effectively (written/verbal), possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and be innovative in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will provide high level expertise throughout the system’s entire lifecycle in accordance with DoD Processes.
  • Produce high-quality written user assistance materials, deliverable as part of the software solution.
  • Works with development teams and product management to understand the purpose of the software features and enhances their value.
  • The core mission is to support end users with useful references materials for them to understand how to use the software solution and to get the most out of it.
  • Enhances the user experience with Quality Instructional Materials.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Editing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency, to improve structure, and to ensure professional editorial standards are met
  • Attending meetings and/or interviewing subject matter experts engaged in software development projects to acquire and synthesize information to develop technical documents
  • Establish and adhere to standards for various technical documents
  • Write supporting end-user documentation (help documentation, quick guides, etc.)
  • May contribute to technical software application documentation for use by developers and business teams.
  • Maintain a track record of producing high-quality, complex, technically accurate documentation about rapidly changing technology.
  • Research, develop, and document technical design specifications and test scripts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
  • Facilitate the peer, quality, and management reviews of project documentation.
  • Format documentation in compliance with approved project style guide requirements.
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
  • Ensure all system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Highs
      chool Diploma or GED
  • Experience:
    • Has Associates or higher degree: Required to have a minimum of 5 yrs experience developing technical evaluations, technical white papers, technical instructions, test instructions, test plans, test procedures, site installation plans and procedures, and facility manuals AND 2 yrs knowledge of IT system administration.
    • Has no degree: required to have a minimum of 7 yrs experience developing technical evaluations, technical white papers, technical instructions, test instructions, test plans, test procedures, site installation plans and procedures, and facility manuals AND 2 yrs knowledge of IT system administration.
    • Must have excellent knowledge of English language and correct usage of grammar, spelling, and punctuation and use this understanding for creating and editing technical documents
  • Clearance
    • Secret or higher clearance

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of AGILE based development methodologies such as Scrum and Kaban etc.
  • Experience with or knowledge of RPASOC, AF DCGS, or FPED systems.
  • Experience with ensuring system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle.
  • Effective Customer Service and management skills/capabilities; including a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external teams.
  • Experience with the USAF Standard Desktop Configuration’s suite of applications (MSOffice products, Adobe DC, etc) and use these applications to prepare appropriate reports and documentation.
