What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer position at GovDash?
We are building the rails to do business with the government.
GovDash is an AI company helping businesses find, win, and manage government contracts. Our platform automates business development, capture, proposal, and contract workflows end to end. This helps contractors grow faster and better serve government missions.
Our small, talent-dense team includes engineers from Google, Lockheed Martin, and CACI, along with veteran proposal managers and capture leaders. This mix of AI talent and deep GovCon expertise uniquely positions us to redefine how contractors work.
In just 12 months, GovDash has scaled to millions in ARR and become the platform of choice for contractors nationwide. We are now building an AI-first ERP for government contractors and, ultimately, the most powerful procurement platform ever created. Join us.
About the role:
We’re hiring a full stack software engineer to join the Dash Team at GovDash. Dash is our AI teammate that orchestrates sub-agents to solve customers’ hardest and most mundane problems. It powers custom, ad-hoc automations that research, write, analyze, and execute work directly inside customer workflows.
In this role, you’ll:
- Build and scale the orchestration layer that powers Dash inside the GovDash platform.
- Develop user-facing features in React/Next.js that let customers interact seamlessly with Dash.
- Design backend services in Node/TypeScript that coordinate automations, data retrieval, and workflow execution.
- Expand integrations, such as our Microsoft Word add-in, so Dash is available where users already work.
- Own initiatives that span across the entire GovDash Platform
- Own projects end-to-end with a relentless focus on usability and customer impact.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong full stack development skills with TypeScript/Node.js and React.
- Ability to work across frontend and backend with an eye for product quality.
- Obsession with customer experience and ownership mentality.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Bonus: experience with LLMs, embeddings, or agent-based systems.
- Bonus: familiarity with government contracting or large data integrations.
Engineers at GovDash today:
- Work with React (TypeScript), Node, Next.js, Temporal, and Large Language Models.
- Move with speed and urgency without sacrificing quality.
- Embrace difficult problems with excitement.
- Put themselves in the shoes of our users to craft great experiences.
- Value clear, frequent communication.
- Uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.
- Feel deep accountability and enjoy building for the businesses we serve.
You might thrive in this role if you have:
- 2 years of professional work experience.
- Experience building and scaling web applications or enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Strong CS fundamentals and architectural instincts.
- Passion for product ownership and customer experience.
- Excitement about building AI-powered features that actually get work done.
- Care about America and her interests (non-negotiable).
