Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Excavation Pipe Layer to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of various types of pipes for utilities and drainage systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in excavation and pipe laying, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and connect SDR, DIP, and RCP according to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify and mark underground utilities by color code to prevent damage during excavation.
  • Conduct inspections of installed pipes to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
  • Perform general labor tasks such as digging, lifting, and transporting materials.
  • Haul, move, and stack materials around the jobsite efficiently
  • Operate basic construction tools and equipment safely. Including but not limited to rakes, shovels, and small compactors
  • Assist with installation of pipes and place bedding as required for utility and drainage systems.
  • Prepare job sites by clearing debris and setting up necessary materials.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Load and unload construction materials as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Assist in site measurements and layout preparations.
  • Support team members with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in installing SDR, DIP, and RCP.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices related to construction and excavation.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and operating various hand and power tools, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Regularly requires standing and bending over for extensive periods of time
  • May require working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Construction sites may be noisy, dirty, and require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must always adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Often requires lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling items.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
  • Requires reaching, crawling, climbing, grasping, kneeling, squatting and twisting.
  • Contractual obligations may require irregular hours, out of town work, overnight stays, nights, weekends and holidays.
