Gough Econ, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Equipment Painter to join our manufacturing team in Charlotte, NC.

In this role, you'll prepare and spray paint fabricated metal components used in custom material handling equipment. You'll take ownership of the paint process from surface preparation through final finish, helping move projects efficiently from fabrication to assembly while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and organization. You'll also play an important role in supporting overall production as a member of our manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial painter who enjoys working independently, takes pride in producing quality work, and wants to be part of a stable manufacturing team.

What You'll Do

  • Apply industrial coatings using conventional spray equipment
  • Read and follow coating specifications, including proper paint mixing requirements
  • Inspect finished work for quality, consistency, and coverage
  • Stage and organize parts before and after painting to support production flow
  • Maintain paint equipment and a clean, organized work area
  • Work closely with fabrication, machine shop, and assembly teams to support production priorities
  • Support other shop departments during slower production periods to help maintain workflow and team productivity

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of industrial spray painting experience
  • Experience painting metal components, industrial equipment, or machinery
  • Ability to read and understand coating specifications and mixing requirements
  • Experience safely using and maintaining spray guns and respirators
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities
  • Safe work habits and willingness to follow established safety procedures

Work Environment

  • Dedicated paint booth with waterfall filtration and fire-suppression systems
  • Conventional spray equipment including pressure-pot and spray-gun systems
  • Primarily painting fabricated carbon steel components used in material handling equipment
  • Requires standing, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift and move moderately heavy fabricated components by hand, as well as occasional ladder use
  • Respirator and PPE use required; employees must be clean shaven to ensure proper respirator fit
  • Employees must be willing to participate in company-paid spirometry testing at hire and periodically thereafter as part of our respiratory protection and safety program

Schedule

4-day workweek | Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Occasional weekends and overtime opportunities available.
